First image of LG Optimus 3D 2 surfaces, new specs revealed

In advance of Mobile World Congress the first image of what is said to be the LG Optimus 3D 2 has made its way online. A point of emphasis with the new design is the device’s thinness. Last year’s Optimus 3D suffered from the fact that the handset measured in at 11.9mm thick. This year LG has reportedly shaved that number down to 9.8mm, reducing the Optimus 3D’s weight in the process. The Optimus 3D 2 will feature a hi-res IPS display, likely the same as the HD screen found on the Optimus LTE.

The Optimus 3D 2 (or potentially Optimus 3D Max) will find its place next the Optimus Vu as one of LG’s MWC booth darlings, but the company may have some surprises for us yet. With Samsung staying low key this year, does LG have a chance to steal the show?

How To Root LG myTouch On Android 2.3 Gingerbread

The LG myTouch was developed by LG for the US mobile carrier, T-Mobile. The device packs a potent hardware setup with a 1Ghz Scorpion CPU, HSPA+ connectivity and a 5MP camera capable of recording at 720p. Such a device, deserves to be rooted to unleash its true potential, and what better way to root it than the SuperOneClick tool. However, the tool does work, only after a slight commands sent via ADB. • SuperOneClick 2.3.1.
• ADB installed.

Instructions:

1. To begin, make sure USB Debugging is enabled in Settings > Applications > Development.
2. Connect the device to the PC and run the command prompt or terminal.
3. Enter the following commands, hitting Enter after every command:

   adb shell
   
   echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf
   
   exit
   

4. Now run SuperOneClick and hit the Root button to begin the rooting process.

Sit back, relax, this may take some time. Once the process is complete, your device may reboot itself and once it does, download Root Checker from the Android Market to verify the root access.

[How To] Root LG Thrill 4G With Super One Click App

LG Thrill 4G, AT & T version of Optimus 3D, was released on 4th September. Apparently some early birds, who opted to go with this handset, identified a method to gain root on this device. With unlocked bootloaders and zero lockable strings attached; Super One Click was able to easily run and root the device. And why should you root your LG Thrill 4G ? Rooting is required if you want to go with custom ROMs, flash custom kernels and want to play Tegra games on your phone.

Here are the step by step instructions to root LG Thrill 4G with Super One Click Rooting utility:

1. The first step is to download SuperOneClick from here, unzip and save the files on your desktop.
2. Now grab LG Android drivers from here and install them on your PC.
3. Once done, connect your phone to the computer, enable USB Debugging but do not mount USB Card as flash drive. You can enable USB debugging by going to Settings > Applications > Development And check mark on USB Debugging option.
4. After this launch SuperOneClick,exe located on your desktop.
5. Now click on root and wait for the process to complete.
6. Once the rooting process is complete, reboot your device.
7. Now after your device reboots, go to home screen and see if Super User is present. You can also verify root by Root Checker app available in Android Market.

And there you go! You now have your LG Thrill 4G rooted and ready for administrative treatment. You can now download and install Chainfire3D and follow in-app instructions to play Tegra games.
