How to Install Stock Android 4.0.3 ICS on HTC Sensation:

Step 1: Download Virtuous Quattro Alpha 3 ROM to your computer.

Step 2: Now copy the above ROM to the root of the SD card in your HTC device.

Step 3: It’s time to reboot the device into ClockworkMod Recovery by turning it off first. To get into the Recovery mode you need press the Volume Down and Power Button concurrently.

Step 4: Now on the screen to highlight the ‘bootloader’ use the Volume Keys and to select it use thePower Button.

Step 5: After that highlight ‘recovery’ by using Volume Keys and select it by using the Power Button.All these will bring the phone into Recovery mode.

Step 6: Now in this recovery mode, just select Backup and Recovery->Backup to create a backup of the existing working ROM.

Step 7: At this moment you must fully wipe the phone data by selecting ‘Wipe data/factory reset’->confirm, then ‘Wipe Cache Partition’->confirm and go to ‘Advanced Settings’ from the main menu to select ‘Wipe Dalvik cach’->confirm on the next screen.

Step 8: You had in a minute wiped the cache and now select ‘Install zip from sdcard’.

Step 9: Select “Choose ZIP from sdcard” and then selecting the downloaded ROM file will confirm the ROM to get flashed onto the HTC Sensation.

Step 10: Select “Go back” and restart your phone into ICS by choosing ‘Reboot system now’.

Walla! You have successfully installed the delicious Android 4.0.3 Ice cream sandwich on your HTC Sensation a.k.a HTC Pyramid with Virtuous Quattro Alpha 3 ROM.

How to Port MIUI v4 to HTC myTouch 4G [Custom ROM]

Its here!!! XDA member febycv has released a Beta MIUI 4 ROM (unofficial port) , or MIUI based on the Ice Cream Sandwich framework, for the MyTouch 4G. The ROM has been ported from the official MIUI ROM for the Nexus S, and is currently in beta development, meaning, that there are a lot of bugs currently which are being worked upon. MIUI v4 retains the ICS framework, while inheriting the unique MIUI user-friendly interface and slick design.

Here’s a list of what works and known issues, quoted from the developer’s thread:

Pre-Installation Requirements

1. Installing/Flashing this ROM will erase your apps and data. So, it’s very important you back them up, before proceeding further. To backup your apps and important data — bookmarks, contacts, SMS, APNs (internet settings), etc. Restore APN settings if Internet isn’t working for you.
2. Rooted/S-off myTouch 4G with Clockworkmod recovery installed.
3. Fully Charged Battery

Installation Steps

1. Download the MIUI v4 Beta ROM for the myTouch 4G. Filename: MIUI_V4-glacier-2.1.6-beta_2.0.zip  |   Size: 158.7 MB  
2. Connect your phone to pc via USB cable and transfer the downloaded file to the root of external SD card on the phone
3. Switch off the phone and reboot into recovery (Volume Down + Power button together)
4. Once you are in Clockworkmod Recovery, scroll to Backup & Restore and select Backup ( This will make a full backup of your existing ROM, which you can go back to, if something gets messed up with the installation)
5. Now Perform a full wipe.  1) Navigate to Wipe data/Factory Reset–>Confirm wipe on the next screen 2) Go to Wipe Cache Partition –> Confirm Wipe Cache on the next screen 3) From the Main menu, select Advanced–>Wipe Dalvik Cache–>On  the next screen confirm Wipe dalvik
6. Now select Install Zip from sdcard–> Choose zip from sd card –> Select the MIUI_V4-glacier-2.1.6-beta_2.0.zip file you transferred in Step 2. This will flash the MIUI ROM on  your device.
7. Once installation is complete, go the main menu and select Reboot system.
8. Congratulations!!! You are now running MIUI v4 based on  Ice Cream Sandwich on your myTouch 4G.

HTC Vivid Might Get the Ice Cream Sandwich based ROM, CM9, Sooner Than You Think!

Great news for HTC Vivid owners!! As the title suggests, the HTC Vivid might get a taste of Ice Cream Sandwich much sooner than we thought. After all, ICS is the flavor of the season currently, and there are multiple devices out there which are already running working builds of custom Ice Cream Sandwich Roms, thanks to the awesome developer community on the Android platform. XDA member thecubed, who is quite well known for his development of custom ROMs for the LG Revolution, has managed to port a build of Cyanogenmod 9 or CM9 on to the HTC Vivid. Having said that, it is a very early build, and is still under development or work-in-progress state, and the only thing that is does is to boot up on the Vivid. Some basic things like the touchscreen, lights and vibrations work, but definitely not anywhere close to the ROM being suitable for anything more than testing , as of now. thecubed managed to get it to boot and stay stable for a couple of minutes before it started acting up. The good news is that since the ROM is able to boot up on the Vivid, (booting up being the key component) , it is just a matter of time and some intensive development, before it is able to function as a fully working rom.

I’m still having some issues with libgralloc and the new ICS 2d acceleration, as I’m completely unfamiliar with it.

Like I mentioned earlier, the ROM is still in a very early state of development.  While the dev has not really gotten to a stage where he can provide us with a working copy of the ROM file that can be downloaded and flashed to your Vivids, he has included the github repositorieswhich can be used by anyone with knowledge of ROM compilation and Android programming to build a ROM from scratch. Ice Cream Sandwich ROM For HTC Desire S [Download & Install]

HTC Desire S gets ICS ROM. Thanks to the efforts of XDA-Developers forum membersuperkid, the first ICS based custom ROM has made its way onto the Desire S. The project started of from a Beta1 and has no reached the Beta 7 stage where the ROM actually has a lot of functions working. If you have a Desire S and it is already rooted with a custom recovery installed, advanced users should definitely give this ROM a try.

Stuff like, sound, 2G / 3G, SD Card, Wi-Fi, Sensors, Headphones, Bluetooth, EGL, Screenshots, Mic, 3D games, 3D acceleration, Video playback are all working fine. However, that said, the camera, tethering and possibly more functions are broken. Unfortunately, screenshots are not available at this point, but we all know what ICS looks like.

1. To begin, download the ROM from the link above and copy it to the root of your SD card.
2. Reboot the device into recovery mode and make a Nandroid backup.
3. Select wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache.
4. Navigate to install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard and select the ROM copied to the SD card.
5. Let the ROM install, and once it does, flash the Google Apps package as well.
6. Now simply reboot the device.
