Yes, by rooting the device following the easy and simple steps. Samsung Galaxy S2 has been awarded as the phone of the year, pounding iPhone 4S. Follow the steps below to root.
You must follow the steps but first keep certain points in your mind and they are:
- Your Samsung Galaxy S2 must be full charge or at least 60%.
- Keep all the backups of the data into your PC.
- Must tap on the Menu-> Settings->Application->Development->USB debugging. Make sure that USB debugging is checked

- USB data cable.
How to Root Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 to Android 4.0.3:
Step 1: Download XXKP8 Android 4.0.3 Rooting Package.
Step 2: Extract it to a new folder via Winzip/Winrar.
Step 3: Open the new folder and double-click the Odin3_v1.0 to run the program.
Step 4: Now turn off your phone.
Step 5: Press the volume down key and OK button to go to the Recovery mode and hold both at the same time press the Power button.
Step 6: When you are in recovery mode select ‘Wipe data/factory reset’ and ‘Wipe Cache partition’.
Step 7: After that return back and select ‘Reboot System’ to reboot your phone.
Step 8: Switch off your phone and press down the ‘Volume down key’ and ‘Home button’ to download mode. Hold both the buttons all together with ‘Power button’.
Step 9: Connect your phone to your PC using the USB Data Cable.
Step 10: The Odin program will identify your phone and you will see that the ID : COM section will turn yellow, which mean that all the drivers have been successfully installed.
Step 11: Now click the ‘PDA’ tab and search for the ‘CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KP8-v5.2.tar’ file you extracted earlier.
Step 12: The rooting process will start after you click on ‘START’.
Step 13: Let the rooting process continue itself and when it is finished you need to restart your phone manually if it doesn’t happen automatically.
Congratulations! Your Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 is updated to Android 4.0.3 Ice cream sandwich.
